If your key is rejected, work through this checklist:
- Characters: copy and paste the key. Look-alike characters such as B and 8, O and 0, or I and 1 are the most common cause.
- Right product: a Windows key only works in Windows, and an Office key only in Office.
- Right edition: a Home key won’t activate Windows Pro, and an Office Standard key won’t activate Professional Plus.
- Right place: Windows keys go in Settings → Activation. Office keys go in the Office app or on Microsoft’s Office setup page, depending on the edition.
If everything checks out and the key is still rejected, contact us with your order number and a screenshot of the message.
