Windows shows an error code when activation fails. Some common ones:
- 0xC004F050: the product key isn’t valid for this installation. Check for typos and that the key matches your edition.
- 0xC004C003: the activation server rejected the key. Contact us with your order number.
- 0x803F7001: Windows can’t find a valid license or key on this device, often after a clean install or hardware change. Enter your product key in Settings → Activation.
- 0xC004F213: no product key was found on the device, often after replacing the motherboard. Enter your key, or run the activation troubleshooter.
Tip: when Windows isn’t activated, the Activation page in Settings offers a Troubleshoot option that fixes many problems automatically. If you see a code that isn’t listed here, take a screenshot and contact us.
