- Open an Office app such as Word or Excel.
- If you are asked to activate, choose to enter a product key, or sign in with your Microsoft account if your edition asks for one.
- Enter the 25-character key from your order email and follow the prompts.
- To confirm, go to File → Account. It should say “Product Activated”.
Some editions ask you to redeem the key online first, on Microsoft’s Office setup page, which links the license to your Microsoft account. If your order email mentions this, do that step before opening the apps. More detail: How to activate Microsoft Office.
