Signs that Office isn’t activated include an “Unlicensed Product” or “Product Activation Failed” message, or features being disabled. Try these steps:
- Check the account. In Word, go to File → Account. If your license is linked to a Microsoft account, sign in with that same account.
- Remove duplicate versions. More than one version of Office on the same computer can cause activation conflicts. See How to uninstall an older Office version.
- Repair Office. On Windows, go to Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Microsoft Office, choose Modify and run a Quick Repair.
- Restart your computer and open Word again.
