A software license key (also called a product key) is a code that proves you have a license to use a piece of software. Windows and Office keys have 25 characters in five groups of five.
You enter the key during or after installation to activate the software. Activation unlocks all features and removes reminders to activate.
The licenses we sell are one-time purchases with no subscription. Each listing states the license type:
- Retail: can be moved to a new computer after it’s removed from the old one.
- OEM: tied to the first computer it’s activated on, which is why it costs less.
Use of the software is governed by Microsoft’s license terms.
